Surprisingly we completed 18 holes of golf today. We had golfers 56 golfers that showed up and played, then Joe Cross showed up at about 10:05 and wanted to know where his group was so he could catch them. His group had been completely redone and was long gone, but Joe played anyway.

I have to hand it to those that showed up, but at the same time I need to address those that didn't show up. When we have a team event, a lot of time is spent to make each foursome as equal as possible. When we have a bunch of people that fail to show up, it leaves us with a bunch of twosomes and threesomes. We have to redo those on the fly to make as many foursomes as possible but they may not be competitive. This makes it unfair your fellow golfers. If you have signed up to play, please don't wait until the last minute to decide not to come out.

There were three rounds of 62 turned in today. We went backwards from 18 to determine the placement. The winning team Mike Poling, Mike Flanigan, Dan Quisenberry, and Richard Board. Second place went to the team of Willis Hughes, Joe Tucker, Bill Gavin, and John Stephens. Third place was Butch Powell, Randy Walters, Ralph Bickle, and Jim Metcalf. Finishing fourth was Roger Goddard, Ron Miracle, Jim Hackathorn, and John Beckett.

The total payout was $168 to split among the first four teams.

There was only 2 skins made. It took a birdie on number 1 and number 8 to win them. Odd thing was that an eagle on 4 and a birdie on 11 did not win skins. The total skin payout was $14 per man.

Below is the results of todays rounds. I forgot to bring the sheet with the proximity winners but will post it tomorrow.

Also posted are the pictures of each foursome.

So Far the weather is still very iffy. During the week, the possibility of rain has gone up and down. It currently calls for a 50% chance of showers until noon then it changes to light rain beginning at noon. Right now we are still on for golf and food, but it could still change if the forecast gets worse.

So Far the weather report is improving. It is calling for scattered thunder storms but shows only a 10 to 20% possibility of rain thru 1 pmBe encouraged that we will get the gold in and have a great lunch. See you tomorrow.

Week 2 Results and notes

We had a great dat today with 52 players. Weather was great, cool but clear. Play was enthusiastic. The team of Willis Hughes, Larry Pfieffer, Ron Sinclair, and Mike Flanagan best solved the challenges of the other teams and the course to emerge as winners.

There was an unusually high number of skins. Ten skins will split $100.

If playing weds or thurs check with John to be sure the course is open. There is a good chance they will be sanding the greens.
